Storage options and pricingThe Google Pixel 6 has 8GB of RAM and two internal storage options – 128GB and 256GB. The price of the Pixel series starts at just under R17,000. The Pro has 12GB of RAM with three internal storage options (128GB/256GB/512GB) priced around R24,000.Redesigned cameraFor the first time since 2017, Google has upgraded the Pixel series hardware with new lenses, sensors, and features. The Pixel 6 Pro is the first model with three rear cameras – a 50MP main photographer, a 12MP ultra wide angle camera and a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom.

The most notable feature is the Pro`s telephoto lens, which makes it fun to take photos and produce sharp, detailed images. The Pixel 6 has the same main, ultra-wide camera as the Pro, producing sharp images in normal, low-light conditions. Phones differ on the front – the Pixel 6 has an 8MP camera with an 84-degree field of view and the Pro has an 11MP camera with a 94-degree field of view to accommodate more people in the frame. Digital signageAlthough phones have large, vibrant, sharp and colorful screens. The Pixel 6 has a fully flat screen and has a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution and fast refresh rates at 90Hz for smooth scrolling and interaction. The Pro increases this to a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with 1440p resolution and refresh rates of up to 120Hz. It currently has one of the best display panels on the market and is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.Revolutionary New ChipThe Pixel range has a brand new processor developed by Google called Tensor. It`s the search engine giant`s first processor and shows it`s ready to leave behind standard processors like Qualcomm. In terms of performance, Google Tensor allows the new Pixel to position itself as a competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 by offering a smoother user experience. Apps open quickly, multitasking is effortless, and the interface is lag-free.

According to Google, other chipsets have not been able to handle its complex AI and machine learning algorithms. But thanks to Tensor, the zone can run multiple ML algorithms without slowing down the phone in the slightest. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro already have Android 12 installed. In addition, Google recently announced that it plans to provide software support for the series for up to five years. The new Android operating system integrates seamlessly with the tensor chip to deliver a powerful experience with innovative updates and long-awaited improvements. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are taking the international smartphone market by storm, impressing Android fans with the bespoke tensor, reinvented camera hardware and captivating display. Earlier this year, Google announced its Android 12 software update.
